How to Bulk Upload user list from Control Panel?

  • Login to the Logix Control Panel
  • Click on Add,
  • Select the user type as Zimbra.
  • Select the Plan Type( Professional, Standard, Business etc) you wish to give to the user.
  • Enter the First name, Last name, Email Address & Password for the user.
  • Similarly, you can also upload users in bulk in one go using the Mass Add option in the Control Panel.
  • Login to the Logix Control Panel Select the Network as Cloud Zimbra
  • Go to Users and select POP User and then click on Mass Add
There is a format which you can download & add all the users saving as .csv. Once done browse the file & upload it. This process would take some time to appear in the control panel.

How to Whitelist Or Blacklist a domain/email address?

  • Login to the Logix Control Panel with the Administrator Credentials,
  • Select the service as Cloud Zimbra
  • Go to Policy option and select Whitelist/Blacklist.
Whitelist Domain/Email Address
Select the Domain and click on Edit WL , open the headers of the mails received, copy the domain/email address and paste it in the Whitelist box provided and click on update.
Blacklist Domain/Email Address
Select the Domain and click on Edit BL, simply open the headers of the mails received( demonstrated in the video), copy the domain/email address from the return-path & put it in the BL box provided and click. on update

How does administrator set the status of an user account?

  • By default the account shows as ‘Active’ which means the user is able to send & receive mails.
  • Use the ‘De-activate’ status, if the user has left the organization. Putting into de-active mode, the user will no longer be able to access his webmail or can’t download the mails in any email client.
  • Using the “Disabled” mode, the mailbox does not receive any mails. This is usually done when a user leaves the organization & re-joins back in the same company.
  • Login to the Logix Control Panel with the Admin Credentials,
  • Select the Network as Cloud Zimbra
  • Go to Users , click on POP User,
  • Select the User and click on Mailbox Details and then go to the Account Status option, set the desired status and click on update, you will get a notification that the status has been successfully updated.

How can a user change his own password?

The user provides an Alternate Email Address( personal email address), which the Admin uploads in his Account.
Follow the steps by the administrator:
  • Login to the Logix Control Panel with the Admin Credentials,
  • Select the service as Cloud Zimbra
  • Go to Users
  • click on POP User,
  • Select the User whose Mailbox you want to put on Active/Deactivate/Disabled mode
  • Click on Account Information and go to the Contact tab and enter the Personal Email address of the User
Steps to reset own password by User:
  • The user goes to the USER CP from his webmail login page.
  • Types his email address and clicks on Forgot Password link located in the bottom right of the page.
  • He gets a message that to reset his password he has to login to his Personal Email address he had provided to the Admin, and follow the instructions provided in his email.
  • Password gets reset

How to enable an Archive user?

  • Login to the Logix Control Panel with the Admin Credentials
  • Select the Service as Cloud Zimbra
  • Go to Users, click on POP User,
  • Select the User and click on the Feature link and Add the Archive feature for a User.

Why password Policy? when do i disable it?

To keep user account secure , Password strength and Age is recommended and by default enabled for all users in a domain.
Default password policy , User’s has to change his/her password in every 60 days. User receives 3 notification messages for password change in their web client. If the user ignores this message then at 60th Day user will not be able to receive any mails in Outlook & it will prompt for a password.
The policy can be disabled in a scenario when one Email Account is configured in many devices at the same time and if you change the password in one device , you have to change in all of them as right from your email account to tasks, calender or contacts all are synchronized.

To disable the policy, follow the steps:
  • Login to the Logix Control Panel with the Admin Credentials,
  • Select the service as Cloud Zimbra
  • Go to Users , click on POP User
  • Select the User and click on Mailbox details and go to the Password Policy option to disable it. And click on update.

A Group or Distribution List ( DL) is a collection of email addresses that allows you to email multiple people at one time. A distribution list can contain a few addresses, or many. Follow the steps to create a DL
  • Login to the Logix Control Panel with the Admin Credentials
  • Select the Service as Cloud Zimbra
  • Go to Users and Select Group User
  • Click on Add. Enter the DL name eg all@domain.com
  • Select the DL type as “Zimbra Network”
  • Once you select this, you can see the entire member in the right hand side window.
  • Enter the description you would like to give to this group.
  • Select the members you wish to include in this group. Also, you can add ‘AuthSender’ who will be authorized to send mails to this group only.
  • Hide in GAL option to hide the group in the global address list
  • Add new user as member in this group automatically if enabled, any user Admin adds to this control panel will be added automatically in this group.
  • You can also add external email ids for. Eg. Gmail, yahoo, etc as member to this group
  • You can also add multiple AuthSender to this group.
  • Export option is also given to quickly export the details into csv format.

How to create different administrator profiles for my email domain?

  • You can specify what type of admin rights to assign to a specific admin user. There can be a multiple admin with different rights assigned to them.
  • Domain Admin: User has full rights for eg. He can create, edit, and delete new records. He can also modify, view & search the records
  • Read Only Admin: User with this right cannot create or delete any records. This user can only view the reports & trace out the logs from the mail tracking option
  • Domain Edit Admin: User can edit the records already created like he can change the password of any user, modify the user already created but no rights to create & delete new entry.
    Follow the steps:
  • Login to the Logix Control Panel with the Admin Credentials
  • Select the Service as Cloud Zimbra
  • Go to User and click Admin Users
  • You can add an authorized user as an admin, you can delete an authorized user with admin rights and you can edit the types of the Right by clicking on Edit Privilege

Which are the various Type of Reports the administrator generate for Cloud Zimbra Service?

You can view the various types of Reports by:
  • Login to the Logix Control Panel with the Admin Credentials
  • Select the Network as Cloud Zimbra
  • And go to the Reports section, you will find the following reports
  • Admin Activity Log: Displays last admin login details and the activity done by the admin. Here the activity log cannot be deleted by any admin.
  • Quota Usage: This report displays mailbox Quota Allocated & Occupied by the user. The information can also be exported presented in .csv format.
  • Password Change: Displays User password Change date/time and IP from where it was accessed.
  • Activity Report: Display Active / Inactive user accounts who have / Haven’t logged on to webmail for X days
  • Session Report: Displays all administrators last accessed date with their permissions.
  • Statistics Report: This report displays Data Transfer, Statistics report, Top sender and Top recipient month wise. Csv report can also be extracted from the required search.

How do I trace if a particular mail has been sent/received by the user?

  • Login to the Logix Control Panel with the Admin Credentials
  • Select the Service as Cloud Zimbra
  • In the Search tab, select the Mail tracking option
  • Enter the full email address in the Sender and Recipient box of the Mail you want track.
  • Enter the time period between which you want to track the mail.
  • To track mail on same day, click on Search.
  • To track mails for last 30 days click on Scheduled Search
  • Both the Output can be downloaded in .CSV format

How do I search users based on various ldap attributes for eg. dept. location?

  • Login to the Logix Control Panel with the Admin Credentials
  • Select the Service as Cloud Zimbra
  • In the Search tab, select the Seach LDAP feature
  • Search users on the basis of LDAP Schema parameters i.e First name , Last name , Dept , Designation , Location , Employee Type , Company Name & Employee No. Searched info can be downloaded in .csv format.
